Superstar 700 Pressurized Aerostar

N21VK: Background Information

N21VK was born N90503, awarded a Standard Airworthiness Certificate after a 4.5 hour test flight on January 1, 1976.  This Aerostar was sold to Pacific Aerostar, the local dealer at Van Nuys, California.  The first actual owner/operator of the plane was Dual Construction, Inc. of Portland Oregon, who changed the registration to N21PS (Phil Snyder).  In 1978, Aerostar serial number 291 was sold to James Hartrich and Associates of Aspen, Colorado who owned this Aerostar for 13 years.  This owner had the Superstar modification done at Machen  (now the Aerostar Factory), and in 1988 changed the registration to N21VK. Phoenix Refrigeration Systems (Grant Brown) purchased the plane in 1991, and she was then based in the Atlanta, Georgia area.  The next registered owner was Patrick Vinson / Childish Creations, Inc. of the Atlanta area, a 3 year owner who has moved on to jet tranportation.

During this Aerostar's stay in the Atlanta area, most of the maintenance was done at Aerostar World, who through the 1990's was doing a huge amount of Aerostar maintenance in the Southeast region of the country.   We purchased this Aerostar from a businessman who had based the plane in Victoria, British Columbia for the past 6 years.

This Aerostar is now for sale by owner, is based at Boulder Municipal Airport, and can be viewed by appointment.

We encourage you to inquire about any customizations and/or upgrades that would be of interest on this aircraft, as most planes we sell are tailored to suit the buyer. Boulder Valley Aviation can configure this plane to the customer's specifiations through very competitive engine remanufacture/overhaul,  avionics upgrades,  and other modifications or refurbishment.

Engines & Propellers

NOTE (Aug 1, 2007): We have installed the right engine and test flown - 0 SMOH with new cylinders, baffling, and turbo systems.  If you are interested, this would be a good time to inquire, as there are many upgrades and personal preferences that are easy to do now, and much harder to do at a later date (for example, known-ice upgrade from full de-ice).

Left Engine has 0 hours since major overhaul with factory new cylinders, overhauled engine mount, new lord mounts, fresh turbo system including turbo blankets, turbos, wastegates,  front exhaust system, flex baffling...

Right Engine has been installed and test flown, with 0 hours since major overhaul with factory new cylinders, overhauled engine mount, new lord mounts, fresh turbo system including turbo blankets, turbos, wastegates,  front exhaust system, flex baffling...

Left  Engine is currently being installed, and has 188 hours since major overhaul with factory new cylinders, overhauled engine mount, new lord mounts, fresh turbo system including turbo blankets, turbos, wastegates,  front exhaust system, flex baffling...

Paint and Interior:
Paint was done at Aerostar World in the mid 1990's, burgundy and grey on white in standard Aerostar 1978 scheme. Paint is in good condition.

Interior  has six seats, with rear bench seat and four individual seats, with one swivel seat and an executive fold out table. Interior was done in 1997 in gray leather, including overhead duct. All carpet was just redone in 2005 with new charcoal gray materials. Interior work appears to be very high quality, including armrests, yokes, and lower plastic all  custom wrapped in leather.

UPDATE: This airplane is going to be repainted; buyer can select color and schemes.
